"Organic cotton" is an easy phrase to print on a tag. GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification is the harder thing behind it — it checks the entire chain, not just the raw fiber.

What it covers

GOTS certification traces cotton from farming (no pesticides, no synthetic fertilizers) through spinning, weaving, dyeing, and stitching. Every facility in that chain has to be certified, not just the farm.

Why it matters for baby and kids clothing

Conventional cotton farming is pesticide-intensive, and conventional dyeing can leave chemical residue in the finished fabric — exactly what ends up against a child's skin for hours a day.
